Weekly Wrap Up – Round 10
Summary
It was a challenging weekend, with several sides coming up against strong opposition across the round. The Men’s Premier Division, Women’s Premier Division and U19.5s all faced Sydney Uni, while MD2 took on a quality North Shore outfit. Despite the results, each team showed commitment and resilience, taking valuable lessons from their respective contests. The standout result came from MD6, who secured a strong win over Manly to cap off the weekend on a positive note and continue building momentum.
Below is a full breakdown of each team’s performance, including coaches’ comments, best-on-ground players, and goalkickers.
Men’s Premier Division
Result:
Sydney Uni 22.13 – 145 to East Coast 6.8 – 44
From The Coach:
Road trip to the worst of places to park, Sydney Uni and after starting well and staying within reach at half-time, got blown away in the second half by a high-quality outfit. We get another opportunity at home against these guys in the back-end of the season – improvement is a must. We move onto North Shore at home this week with Kids takeover round, we will bounce back with a huge week on the track and have a crack at the league leaders.

Men’s Division 6
Result:
East Coast 6.10 – 46 to Manly 3,9 – 27
From The Coach:
The dreaded 9am away game in Manly arrived, and after a tough loss the week before to UTS, the boys were hungry to reignite a winning streak. A tough first half saw the Eagles up by 1 point at half time, with our best footy clearly still stuck in traffic on the way to the ground. A gritty 3rd quarter with a lot of missed tackles and poor decision making saw the scores level up. One final rev up from coaches and leaders saw the boys finally click into gear. Our best footy had finally arrived! Our first tackle of the 4th quarter stuck resulting in an Eagles free kick, and we moved down the ground to kick away. Another 2 goals in quick succession put the match out of reach for the Wolves. The Eagles kept the Wolves scoreless in the final quarter, highlighting that 20 minutes of unselfish, well executed footy can sometimes be just enough to grab a win. Plenty of positives to take from the game, and plenty of lessons learned. In true Div 6 fashion, the boys showed great sportsmanship and proved why they are the cornerstone of comradery at our club, by joining in the chairing off of one of Manly’s milestone game players. A gesture greatly appreciated by the Wolves.
