From The Coach:
UGLY WINS ARE STILL WINS! On a day where we were expected to win, we made the game much harder than it needed to be but came away with the 4 points to make it 2 in a row. Brody Kane with a 4th quarter 3-goal burst proved the difference to put us ahead, in a best on ground performance. We move onto what will be our toughest block of games for the season – first up road trip to Syd Uni where we look to embrace the challenge!!

Manly proved a strong D1 side, using run and spread to gain the advantage despite our solid effort and contested work. We improved as the game progressed, creating scoring chances, highlighted by Talia Manassa’s goal. Several players stepped up, including our Phoenix group. The scoreboard didn’t reflect it, but our effort, growth, and team culture were clear positives.

Men’s Division 2
Result:
East Coast 17.19 – 121 to Inner West 4.4 – 28
From The Coach:
On a beautiful sunny winter’s day on our home deck , we took to the field determined to produce a strong four-quarter performance and play the style of football we know we are capable of. The result was a convincing team effort built on hard work, disciplined defence, and our willingness to move the ball with speed and purpose. We set the tone early, taking control in the opening quarter to lead 29–8 before extending the margin to 57–20 at half time. Our defensive six were outstanding throughout the game, holding strong under pressure, and providing the foundation for much of our attacking play. Their ability to win the ball back, stay composed and run the ball out of defence gave us real drive through the middle and created repeated opportunities going forward. The second half saw our running game come to the fore, with strong overlap, quick ball movement, and willingness to support teammates resulting in another 64 points while restricting the opposition to just eight. The final siren saw us record an impressive 17.19 (121) to 4.4 (28) victory – a 93-point win. While there is still room to improve our teamwork and consistency, performances like this demonstrate what we are capable of when we play with confidence, connection and intent. Most importantly, while we continue to strive for improvement each week, it is equally important to take the time to celebrate a well-earned victory. Congratulations to everyone involved on a strong team performance.
