The Physick name is a prominent one within the sport of AFL in the Hills district. This weekend another Physick notches a significant milestone, with Tim Physick playing his 200th Eagles Game, an honour that will now see Tim inducted as a Player Life Member of the Club.
Tim started his love affair with the code in the mid 1980’s playing for the Bulleen Bullants, moving on to the Baulkham Hills Football Club in 1991, where he has been ever since. One of his fondest memories of the early days was playing in ankle deep mud and driving rain with woollen jumpers back in Melbourne with the Bullants.
Over a long career at Baulkham Hills and the Eagles, Tim rates the 2007 Reserve Grade Grand Final as a highlight, beating Pennant Hills by one point. Particularly special about this moment was being awarded the Billy McLeod Medal as the team’s Best & Fairest and sharing the League’s Best & Fairest Sanders Medal with close mate Tim Kear.
Throughout his playing career there are obviously several team mates that have impressed and inspired Tim. When buy cialis online in the uk quizzed on the best players he has played with Tim offers, “Clint Austerberry – the kid had huge ability and a heart to match. And Ben Physick, I didn’t get to play enough games with him because he was always better than me and playing footy in a higher grade”.
When asked about the best thing about the club? “Having people like Trevor Hangan helping out week in, week out to make sure his ‘kids’ can play footy for this club. Every footy club has volunteers but ours are better!”
With an injury free season, 2014 might see another milestone for Tim, who will this weekend play his 390th Club Game (including all Eagles matches and Baulkham Hills AFC up to and including 2008), just 10 games short of the 400 mark.
With such a long and distinguished career, the inevitable question about the number of remaining seasons left in the body required a response, to which Tim offered, “Whats the minimum age for AFL Sydney Masters Football?”
From everyone at the Sydney Hills Eagles, congratulations Tim, on this major achievement.
